Scott’s Run Nature Preserve: Off Georgetown Pike in McLean, this Fairfax County preserve has trails through woods and a grove of old hemlocks, leading to a small waterfall where Scott’s Run flows into the Potomac River.
Great Falls Park: A little farther out in McLean, this National Park Service park has overlooks where the Potomac River drops over jagged rocks into Mather Gorge, along with hiking trails and the historic Patowmack Canal.
Clemyjontri Park: Also on Georgetown Pike in McLean, this park’s playground is designed so children of all abilities, including those who use wheelchairs, can play side by side. The park also has a carousel.
Meadowlark Botanical Gardens: Set on 95 acres in Vienna, these NOVA Parks gardens have lakes, paved walking paths and the Korean Bell Garden, home to the bronze Bell of Peace and Harmony.
Capital One Hall: Right in Tysons, this performing arts center opened in 2021 and hosts concerts, comedy and other shows in its 1,600-seat main theater and the smaller Vault Theater.
