Information We Collect

We collect information you provide when booking a vehicle or creating an account: name, email, phone number, driver's license details, insurance information, and payment details. For self-drive rentals this includes photos or PDFs of your driver's license (front and back), your insurance card and your insurance declarations page, and the same for any additional driver you add. We also collect usage data such as pages visited and booking history.

How We Use Your Information

Your information is used to process bookings, verify driver eligibility, communicate about your reservation, process payments, and improve our services. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Your License and Insurance Documents

You can upload your driver's license and insurance documents in your account, before or after you book. We use them only to check that you can drive the car and are insured as our rental terms require, and to deal with any claim connected with your rental, such as damage, tolls or tickets.

Uploaded documents are encrypted when stored. Only our staff can open them, after typing an office password; you can't open them again from your account, so a stolen login can't be used to see them. Every time a member of staff opens or downloads one, it is recorded.

Once we have checked and approved your documents, we normally delete the photos from our website and servers straight away. Your account keeps only the fact that they were approved, by whom and when. If we ask you for a new photo, we delete the one you sent straight away.

Before deleting them, we may save a copy for our own records. That copy is protected with a password and kept securely offline, not on our website or servers, only until your rental has ended and any damage claim, toll or ticket connected with it is settled, and is then deleted.

If we keep a copy on our servers instead, it is deleted automatically 6 months after your last rental ends. We keep it longer only while a damage claim, toll or ticket connected with your rental is still open, and delete it once that is settled. You can ask us to delete your documents sooner if you have no booking coming up.

If you text or email your documents to us instead, we use them only to check them and delete the message once we have.

Payment Security

When online card payments are available, they are processed through Stripe, a PCI-DSS compliant payment processor. Other payments (such as cards taken by phone, Zelle, Cash App, Apple Pay, Amazon Pay or crypto) are handled by the relevant payment provider. We do not store your full credit card number on our servers. Payment information is encrypted in transit and at rest.

Data Sharing

We share your information only with service providers necessary to fulfill your booking: payment processors (Stripe) and email services. If there is a claim connected with your rental, such as damage, a toll or a ticket, we may share the details needed to deal with it with the insurer or the authority involved. We may also disclose information if required by law.

Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We use analytics cookies to understand how visitors use our site. You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings.

Data Retention

Uploaded license and insurance photos are normally deleted from our website and servers as soon as we have approved them, and any copy we keep is deleted as described above. We keep booking and payment records, and your account details, for as long as your account is active and afterward for as long as we need them for legal, tax and accounting purposes. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us.
