Vienna Town Green: This lawn on Maple Avenue East is the town’s main outdoor gathering place, hosting the free Summer on the Green concert series and other community events.
Freeman Store and Museum: Built in 1859 on Church Street NE, this store and home was the polling place for Vienna’s 1861 secession vote and was used by both armies during the Civil War. Today it houses a museum, a gift shop with old-fashioned candy, and a used book cellar.
Little Library Museum: Built in 1897 as Vienna’s first public library, this one-room building now stands on Mill Street NE next to the Freeman Store and is run as a small museum by Historic Vienna, Inc.
Washington & Old Dominion Railroad Regional Park: Better known as the W&OD Trail, this 45-mile paved trail follows a former railroad bed from Shirlington to Purcellville and runs through downtown Vienna, drawing walkers, runners, and cyclists.
Vienna Railroad Station: The town’s historic depot beside the W&OD Trail is home to the Northern Virginia Model Railroaders, whose small museum in the old waiting room traces the railroad’s story from its arrival in 1859 to its closure in 1968.
