Danville Museum of Fine Arts & History: Housed in the Sutherlin Mansion, an Italian Villa–style house built around 1859 on Main Street, the museum covers Danville’s Civil War and civil rights history, including the 1960 sit-in at the segregated public library that once occupied the mansion. It also shows art exhibits.
Riverwalk Trail: A paved greenway of nearly 12 miles along the Dan River that begins at the Crossing at the Dan trailhead in downtown Danville, crosses the river on a restored 1856 railroad bridge, and links Ballou Park, Dan Daniel Memorial Park, and Anglers Park.
