Holiday Car Rentals in DC: Parties, Airport Pickups, and New Year's Eve

The holiday season fills the calendar fast. Office parties, family flying in, dinners you've been planning for months, and a New Year's Eve that needs to go just right.

Getting around DC this holiday season

Here are a few ways to make the most of the season, and what to sort out early.

Holiday parties and nights out

The simplest way to enjoy a holiday party is to leave the driving to someone else. With a chauffeur, nobody in your group needs to drive after a drink, and you won't spend the evening looking for parking.

You book a chauffeur by the hour, with a 4-hour minimum, and the price includes the car, your driver, fuel, and insurance, with tolls and parking added at cost. Your driver stays with you for the hours you've booked, so heading on to a second party or dinner afterward is easy.

For two: the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S, which we call the "Baby Rolls-Royce Ghost," has a Starlight headliner and an executive rear package, so the back seat feels like an occasion of its own.

For a group: a Cadillac Escalade takes six passengers, with your chauffeur up front. Our white Escalade Platinum adds a Starlight headliner and ambient lighting.

For a company event: tell us how many guests are coming, and we'll quote the cars and drivers you need.

Family flying in for the holidays

Airports get busy in December, and a familiar face isn't always free to make the pickup. Our chauffeurs meet arrivals at BWI, Reagan National (DCA), and Dulles (IAD), private terminals included. Give us the flight number and we'll keep track of it, so the car is there whether the flight is early or late.

Let us know how many people and bags are coming, and we'll pick a car that fits them all. The Escalade-V ESV carries six passengers and six suitcases with a chauffeur at the wheel. We can also fit child safety seats, so tell us your children's ages.

Would you rather drive the family around yourself while they're in town? The Tesla Model X seats six and has Falcon Wing doors. A multi-day self-drive rental also costs less per day the longer you keep the car, and each listing shows its multi-day rates. We deliver to homes and hotels across DC, Maryland, and Virginia, priced by distance, or you can collect the car from our Rockville headquarters at no charge.

New Year's Eve

Plenty of people want a driver on New Year's Eve, so if your plans are set, book as early as you can to get the car you want.

Our chauffeured bookings run from 4 up to 24 hours, so your driver can take you to dinner, wait while you count down, and get you home safely after midnight. Share your plan with us, including where you'll be at midnight and roughly when you'd like to leave, and we'll build the timings around it. Expect heavy traffic and road closures near the big celebrations, and allow extra time.

Want to start the new year with something special? A Maybach S580 'Starlight' or a Rolls-Royce makes the ride home part of the celebration.

A holiday surprise

Planning a surprise for someone special? We can deliver a car to their door, with fresh roses arranged inside for $209. Want to go bigger? The Romance Package fills the car with 48 roses and a 6-foot teddy bear for $750. Roses need 16 hours' notice; allow about a week for the Romance Package. See our roses page for details.

If the person you're surprising will be driving, they'll need to meet our driver requirements and be approved before the day, so talk to us early. With a chauffeur, there's nothing for them to do but enjoy it.

Driving in winter weather

DC winters can bring rain, ice, and the odd snowstorm, so it's worth choosing your car with the forecast in mind.

All-wheel drive: our SUVs, including the Lamborghini Urus, Rolls-Royce Cullinan, Mercedes-AMG G63, Cadillac Escalades, and Tesla Model X, all have all-wheel drive. So do our Maybachs and the Rolls-Royce Ghost.

Rear-wheel drive: many of our sports cars, including the Ferrari 458, 488, and Portofino, our McLarens, the Corvettes, and the Porsche 911 GT3, send their power to the rear wheels. They're a joy on a dry winter day, but they're not the best choice when snow or ice is on the way. Our supercars also sit low, so even the all-wheel-drive Lamborghini Huracán EVO isn't made for snow.

Even with all-wheel drive, take it slowly in bad weather and leave plenty of space. If the forecast changes before your booking, call us and we'll talk through your options. Or book a chauffeur and let us handle the roads.

Plan ahead for the busy weeks

• Book early if your dates are fixed, especially around Christmas and New Year's Eve.
• Standard pickup and return times are between 9 AM and 8 PM. Need a different time? Call us and we'll arrange it.
• Driving yourself? Send your license and insurance early, because every driver needs our team's approval before pickup.
• Last-minute plans? Same-day bookings are welcome whenever the car is available, so give us a call.
