Exotic Car Rental for Photo and Film Shoots in DC

A music video needs a car that looks the part the moment the camera rolls. A product shoot needs one that arrives spotless. A short film might need a car that looks like it belongs to the police.
At Supercars By The Day, our cars regularly appear on sets across Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia. We deliver them to your location, move them between shots if you need us to, and price shoots by the hour. Here's how to plan yours, from choosing the car to wrapping up. Tell us what you're creating, and we'll help you make it work.
Booking a car for your shoot, step by step
Every production is different, so think of these steps as a checklist to talk through with our team.
1. Choose a car that fits the story
Start with the mood you want on camera. A few ideas from our fleet:
- Wealth and luxury: a Rolls-Royce Cullinan in white, or one of our Maybachs.
- Color and energy: a Lamborghini Urus in Giallo Auge yellow, or a Huracán EVO in yellow or red.
- A vintage feel: our white 1965 Mustang convertible, made for classic Americana.
- Something futuristic: a Tesla Cybertruck in stainless steel or satin black.
- Action and crime scenes: our 2022 Dodge Charger Police Pursuit, a favorite for music videos and films.
The Charger is strictly for film, music-video, and prop use. Impersonating a police officer is a felony, and using its emergency lights on public roads requires the proper permits.
Every car on our site is photographed as it actually sits, so the car in the listing is the car that arrives on set. Need more than one? We put together multi-car packages, coordinated by our team for the day and delivered to your location.
2. Decide how the car will be used
Tell us whether the car will stay parked for photos or move during the shoot.
- Parked for photos only: you don't need insurance, because nobody on your team will be driving it.
- Moving in the shot: if you're renting the car and are legally able to drive, you can move it yourself, and insurance works the same as a normal rental. Or our team can drive it for you between setups.
Planning camera mounts, decorations, or anything else fixed to the car? Ask us first, since nothing can be attached without our approval. The same goes for any stunt driving, and racing isn't allowed.
3. Choose hourly or daily
Shoots are priced by the hour, so you only book the time you need on set. If you'd rather rent the car and keep it for the day, it's booked at the daily rate instead.
When you ask for a quote, tell us the date, the location, and how long you need the car. Include setup and pack-down time, not just the minutes the camera is rolling.
4. Check the location
You don't need a permit from us. Some locations require one of their own, though, so check the rules for the place you have in mind before booking.
Looking for a backdrop? Busy districts such as Waterfront Street at National Harbor, The Yards, Bethesda Row, Union Market, and Reston Town Center give you shops and modern buildings behind the car. Keep the car in an ordinary permitted space, follow the posted signs, and never stop in a travel lane for a shot.
We deliver across DC, Maryland, and Virginia, with a fee based on distance, or you can collect the car free of charge from our Rockville headquarters.
5. Bring a photographer, or ask us
You're welcome to bring your own photographer or videographer. Don't have one? Let us know, and we can reach out to photographers for you.
6. On the day
The car arrives detailed and ready. Before the first shot, walk around it with our team and note its condition together, then shoot at your pace within your booked time.
Sharing the results? Tagging us on social media is never required, but we always love to see what you create.
What to confirm before booking
- Photos only: if the car stays parked, there's no driver approval or insurance to arrange.
- Driving the car: each driver must be at least 18, hold a valid driver's license, and have insurance approved for the car. Everyone who drives must be named on the rental agreement and approved by our team before pickup.
- Deposit: if you're renting the car, the deposit is shown on its listing. It's separate from the rental price and isn't paid by credit card.
- Cancellation: cancellations receive credit toward a future booking, valid for one year. Where possible, let us know at least 48 hours before your booking starts.
For delivery, mileage, and other common questions, see our FAQ, or just ask us.
